Writer describes preference for analogue watches over digital styles

A writer has said he much prefers wearing analogue watches over digital versions, no matter how popular the latter may be.

Roger Moroney of Hawke’s Bay Today said he tried digital watches several years ago, but was reluctant to adjust to the technology.

“I passed through the digital watch stage and now, like I suspect the great majority do, wear something I can wind up,” he commented.

Mr Moroney admitted that he found the instructions on digital watches somewhat baffling, which he said may have been because he opted for a cheap, mass-produced version over a quality model.

However, he stated he is happy with his men’s watches that require winding up, as he always knows he will be able to set the time quickly and easily.

Anyone else who is scared of digital watches may be pleased to know that a range of brands produce more traditional timepieces with hands.

These include Sekonda, Fossil and Casio, so chronograph watches fans can still be fashionable and stylish.
