Motorcycle legend Mick Doohan was on hand yesterday to reveal the new special edition collection of Mick Doohan TW Steel
watches.
The five times world motorcycling champion was at the Isle of Man, the home of the famous Isle of Man TT races as brand ambassador for TW Steel watches and also to reveal the latest collection of watches bearing his name.
Australian national Mick, now aged 46, won 5 consecutive world titles from 1994 - 1998 and amassed a total of 54 Moto GP wins throughout his career. He retired in 1999 after an accident, breaking his right leg during the qualification stages of the Spanish Grand Prix.
Nowadays Mick is a successful businessman, but still very much involved with the sport, selling his own merchandise via his website and now as a brand ambassador for TW Steel Watches, a
watch manufacturer that also has strong connections with various motorsports with several famous names on their books as ambassadors for the brand and includes many special edition watch models made in their honour. These include retired F1 driver David Coulthard, motor racing legend Emerson Fitipaldi, and 3 times Indy Car champion Dario Franchitti.
Mick was at Wilkins Jewellers, based in Strand Street at 4.30pm yesterday to reveal the special edition watch made by TW Steel in his honour.
