Further to watch repairs specialist David Edwards telling the Daily Reflector that mobile phones will not replace watches earlier this week, another horologist has said he thinks they still have plenty of time in them yet.
Barry Baker, who repairs watches across the pond in Kentucky, told the Courier Journal he remembers when people thought quartz watches would replace older styles, something which has never happened.
"'Oh that's going to be the end of watchmakers!' [they said]. Well, you know what? We're still here," he commented.
Mr Baker reported that pocket watches and designer watches are particularly popular right now, with people attaching real sentimental value to them.

Classic-style pocket watches continue to be available from reliable brand Rotary, which offers them in an array of different finishes.
